Connecting the Dots between Financial Behaviors and Well-being

Many people, particularly your students, have little understanding of the ways in which financial behavior impacts emotional, mental, and physical well-being. All four are interdependent parts that make up a person’s holistic self—and when one part is challenged, the others are too. Studies have shown that people with debt, for example, have higher rates of stress and depression. During this interactive session, we will identify common financial behaviors, the impact it could be having on students’ well-being, and ways to encourage healthier habits.

Specific topics covered:

  • Define wellness concepts and how each contribute to holistic health
  • Identify influencers of financial behaviors  
  • Discuss the effect financial behaviors have on emotional, mental, and physical well-being
